PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Lesnarskyi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikolai Bolokov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bolokov is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Du Hast. On his way into the cage it seems that Brock Lesnarskyi has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Brock Lesnarskyi seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikolai Bolokov!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnarskyi slips a jab from Bolokov.

Bolokov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Bolokov postures up in Lesnarskyi's guard and throws a big left but Lesnarskyi blocks it.

Lesnarskyi frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Lesnarskyi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bolokov can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brock Lesnarskyi.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lesnarskyi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bolokov but Bolokov pushes him off and we're back to square one.

You get the feeling that Bolokov really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Bolokov is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
BOOM! Lesnarskyi connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bolokov is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Lesnarskyi wants to control the pace but Bolokov is squirming around nicely.

Lesnarskyi has hold of Bolokov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bolokov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Bolokov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lesnarskyi napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bolokov lands a nice short elbow.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bolokov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Lesnarskyi rushes Bolokov and presses him up against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Bolokov drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lesnarskyi stops a takedown attempt from Bolokov.

Lesnarskyi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bolokov uses from the top position.

Bolokov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bolokov is pushing down on Lesnarskyi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lesnarskyi is fighting to maintain full guard but Bolokov has managed to sneak the leg through.

Bolokov is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lesnarskyi has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lesnarskyi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bolokov has escaped the position, nice work there.

Bolokov explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Lesnarskyi has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Lesnarskyi has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bolokov's face.
Bolokov is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Bolokov is squirming around, avoiding Lesnarskyi's attempts to control the action.
Bolokov is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Lesnarskyi has taken his back!

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Lesnarskyi's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
