Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves throws a hook to the side of Powers's head but Powers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Powers takes one to the side of the head.
The crowd cheers as Alves lands an impressive looking overhand right. Powers doesn't seem phased though.
Powers fails with the takedown.

Powers feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Alves is pulling down on Powers's head to control his posture.

Alves is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Powers trying to control the position from guard on top but Alves is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Powers wants to pass the guard but Alves is keeping the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Alves throws a series of punches but Powers avoids them all with ease.
Powers shoots for a takedown but Alves saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Alves scores with a three punch combo!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Powers is defended easily by Alves.
Bo Alves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Powers.
Powers walks into a left hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alves scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Powers looks gassed!
Alves moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Powers tries to move into range but Alves moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alves clobbers Powers with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Alves drops Powers with a big left hand! Powers is injured, injured bad! Alves jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
