Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ladanian Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ladanian Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Smith!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith clinches up against the cage.
Smith fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Smith has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Peterson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Smith wants a takedown but no success here.
Ladanian Peterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Smith.
Peterson putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Smith in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Smith has Peterson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Peterson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Peterson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Some bone on bone action there as Smith checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Peterson throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Peterson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Peterson wants to land a leg kick but Smith is out of range.
Peterson lands a nice looking kick to the body. Smith takes a step back to recover.

Peterson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Smith pushes Peterson off looking to stand but Peterson dives back in and keeps control.
Smith wants to control but Peterson is keeping busy.
Smith is trying to stand up here but Peterson is controlling him well.

Peterson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Smith to get to his feet.
Peterson feints and then cracks Smith's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Smith down.

Peterson shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Peterson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Peterson scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Peterson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Smith is working an open guard so Peterson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Peterson sprawls well initially but Smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Smith is trying to control. Peterson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Peterson to regain full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Peterson is trying to stand.
BOOM! Smith connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peterson is squirming around, avoiding Smith's attempts to control the action.
Smith landing shots from mount.
Smith lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Peterson hang on?
Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Smith lands a big shot there that rocks Peterson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith lands a nice shot to the head.
Smith sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Smith with shots to the head and body - Peterson looks very uncomfortable down there.

Smith stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smith wants it to stay on the feet.

Smith takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
You get the feeling that Peterson really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Peterson tries to hold on but Smith pushes him away.
Peterson squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Smith cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Peterson really wants to buck Smith off and get back to his feet.
Peterson in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Smith is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Peterson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Joe Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Smith has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
