Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Strep Agalactaciae! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, carlos Jones! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones takes one on the button. Agalactaciae fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Agalactaciae persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Agalactaciae controlling the action here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones is defending against the submission attempts here by Agalactaciae.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is trying to control but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Agalactaciae stands up and beckons Jones to join him on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch. Jones tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Jones is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Agalactaciae tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jones prevents the takedown attempt.
Jones throws a knee to the head but misses.
Agalactaciae drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jones gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Strep Agalactaciae. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Agalactaciae blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Agalactaciae tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jones checks a leg kick. Jones wants to clinch. Jones darts in and clinches Agalactaciae up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Strep Agalactaciae will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Agalactaciae throws a chopping leg kick but Jones manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Agalactaciae throws a nice head kick!
Agalactaciae swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones. Agalactaciae lands a left and a right that send Jones crashing to the mat, dazed. Agalactaciae thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Jones is rocked!
It looks like carlos Jones has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones slips a jab and a cross from Agalactaciae.
Jones checks a low kick from Agalactaciae.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Agalactaciae. An inside leg kick lands from Agalactaciae. Agalactaciae lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jones is breathing heavily. Agalactaciae circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Jones drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Agalactaciae follows Jones to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Strep Agalactaciae! Strep Agalactaciae retains his heavyweight title!
