Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Last Emperor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Shogun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shogun has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mauricio Shogun!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emperor closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shogun to the mat! Shogun manages to get full guard.
Emperor drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Shogun dives on top into guard.
Emperor manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Emperor goes for an armbar but Shogun turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Shogun.
Shogun got a little sloppy there for a moment and Emperor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shogun has managed to get both his arms back between Emperor's legs - danger averted.
Emperor manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Emperor working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Shogun looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Emperor! Submission of the night perhaps?
