Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roger Huerta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Diaz! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksandr Martynov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Huerta shoots for a takedown but Diaz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Diaz stuffs the takedown. Diaz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Huerta works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Huerta misses with a takedown and Diaz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Huerta's guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roger Huerta. That's going to take a lot out of him. Diaz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Diaz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diaz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Huerta keeping full guard, as Diaz tries to pass. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground. Diaz passes Huerta's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diaz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Huerta sees it coming and defends easily. Diaz is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Diaz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Huerta has managed to free his arm - good work. Huerta tries to get to full guard but Diaz has control of the leg. Huerta wants to control but Diaz is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Diaz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Huerta has managed to free his arm - good work. Diaz is looking for a kimura but Huerta is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Diaz to get the leverage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Huerta is trying to stand up here but Diaz is controlling him well. Diaz works his foot free and advances to mount. Huerta tries to reverse the position but Diaz maintains control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Huerta is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Diaz is controlling him well. Huerta is trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Diaz has hold of Huerta's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Huerta tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Diaz cranks the arm and Huerta screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Huerta, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Nick Diaz!
