Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frosty McPenos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McPenos comes to the cage accompanied by "Don't Call Me White" by Nofx. Thiago Perez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perez shoots in and drives through. McPenos sprawls well. Perez tries to close the distance and clinch but McPenos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Perez tries a head kick but it misses.
McPenos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Perez. Perez is looking to land body kicks. Perez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McPenos is fending him off so far but Perez persists. Nope, McPenos circles away and we're back to standing. Frosty McPenos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thiago Perez. No luck for Perez with that takedown attempt. McPenos moves into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McPenos is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Perez is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but McPenos is keeping busy. McPenos has Perez pressed against the cage, preventing Perez from circling away and getting back to striking at range. McPenos tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Perez avoids it. Perez takes an elbow to the temple. Perez swings away with an uppercut that misses.
McPenos stalls. Perez is looking to break free of the clinch but McPenos has double underhooks. McPenos landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Perez has McPenos pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. McPenos manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. McPenos tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. McPenos is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. McPenos stalls. Perez goes for a takedown attempt but McPenos pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Perez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McPenos avoids it really well and circles away. McPenos scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. McPenos with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. McPenos gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
That's three minutes gone in the round. A solid leg kick lands there for McPenos.
McPenos gets in close and instigates a clinch. Perez on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McPenos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. McPenos showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McPenos's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Perez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Perez throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Perez looks gassed! McPenos preventing the sweep. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Perez looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frosty McPenos dominated that round. That's time! McPenos's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Perez misses with the combination.
McPenos gets a takedown into half guard. McPenos is trying to control the action in half guard but Perez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. McPenos trying to mount his opponent but Perez defends it. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McPenos in particular looking to stall. Perez wants to improve his position but McPenos is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. McPenos seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McPenos has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Perez manages to get to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Perez is trying to control the position but McPenos postures up. McPenos looking to sit in guard and control but Perez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. McPenos wants to get back to his feet but Perez is in a dominant position and won't allow it. McPenos has control of Perez's left arm, preventing Perez from doing any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Frosty McPenos. Perez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and McPenos holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McPenos stalling against the cage.
McPenos lands a nice knee to the body. Perez goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
The referee is keeping an eye on McPenos - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. McPenos comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Perez throws a head punch that misses. McPenos lands a good knee to the midsection. Perez won't want to take too many of those. Perez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McPenos walks away with a smile on his face. Perez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. McPenos is looking to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Perez throws a sloppy head kick and McPenos moves out of range easily. Perez misses with a takedown attempt and McPenos counters by moving into the clinch. Frosty McPenos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thiago Perez. Perez is breathing heavily. McPenos lands a nice elbow. Perez managing to block the knees to the body from McPenos.
McPenos stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Perez is trying to maintain a safe position but McPenos gets an underhook and turns Perez into the cage. McPenos lands an elbow that stopped Perez in his tracks for a moment. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as McPenos takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McPenos lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. McPenos is pushing Perez up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. A frustrated look appears on Perez's face as he tries to break the clinch. Perez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. McPenos lands a nice elbow from the clinch. A knee to the head by McPenos.
McPenos creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Perez's defenses. McPenos has hold of one of Perez's legs. Perez is fighting the takedown attempt but McPenos gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. McPenos content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McPenos trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. McPenos is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. McPenos has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. McPenos advances to half guard. Perez looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Perez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. McPenos trying to mount his opponent but Perez defends it. Perez is not content to let McPenos control the position. McPenos not doing much here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McPenos thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Perez's head. McPenos trying to control from half guard but Perez is working away. Frosty McPenos is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. McPenos tries to pass the half guard into mount. Perez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. McPenos not doing much here.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nice defenses there by McPenos.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Perez tries for a takedown but McPenos circles away easily and McPenos counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Perez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. McPenos content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Frosty McPenos showed his dominance in that final round. Well McPenos has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
