The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ERNESTO shoots in and drives through. Benson sprawls well.
ERNESTO closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
ERNESTO landing strikes.
Benson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
ERNESTO is nestled in close to Benson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
ERNESTO knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Benson on the ground.
ERNESTO is keen to just control but Benson is a slippery customer.
Benson moves into full guard.
Benson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
ERNESTO trying to move into half guard but instead Benson has managed to sweep!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
ERNESTO wants to stand and escape but Benson is having none of it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and ERNESTO counters by moving into the clinch.
Benson tightens his grip and picks ERNESTO up, before dumping him to the ground. ERNESTO manages to land in guard.

ERNESTO wants to stand up but Benson is controlling him.

Benson slips a nice elbow through ERNESTO's hands, connecting with ERNESTO's forehead.

so ERNESTO counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Benson wants to sweep here but ERNESTO controlling him for the moment.

Benson is working for a kimura but ERNESTO is defending it quite comfortably.
Benson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

ERNESTO wants to control but Benson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Benson works his foot free and advances to mount.

ERNESTO is desperately trying to improve his position but Benson has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Benson cracks ERNESTO with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
ERNESTO might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
A nice elbow there by Benson.
ERNESTO is wriggling around trying to escape.
Benson is working for a guillotine from mount but ERNESTO frees his head quite easily.
Benson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but ERNESTO manages to avoid the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fred Benson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Benson moves in looking to clinch but ERNESTO pushes him off.

ERNESTO wants to pass to mount but Benson is defending the position.

ERNESTO wants to advance to full mount but Benson doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Benson wants to sweep here but ERNESTO controlling him for the moment.
Benson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. ERNESTO manages to get himself to full guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

ERNESTO bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
