Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cake Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vitor Belfort! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cake Jr! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jr shoots in for a takedown but Belfort shows good takedown defense. Belfort doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jr counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Jr stuffs the takedown attempt from Belfort. Belfort gets slowly back to his feet. Jr tries for a takedown but Belfort sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Belfort. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitor Belfort. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jr shoots in for a takedown but Belfort shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jr lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Belfort circles away quickly and effectively. Jr swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jr takes a swing at Belfort's ribcage but misses. Jr rushes Belfort and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Belfort breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jr shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Belfort pinned against the cage. Belfort gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jr looks gassed! Belfort closes the distance and clinches up with Jr, looking for a takedown. Belfort pushes Jr against the cage but Jr circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Belfort shoots in but no luck this time. Belfort dodges the punch combination from Jr.
Belfort fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jr avoids it really well and circles away. Belfort shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jr pinned against the cage. Jr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belfort with a poor takedown and Jr counters with a one-two to the body. Belfort takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Belfort has a takedown stuffed. Jr moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Belfort throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Vitor Belfort seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A slapping body kick lands there for Belfort. Jr keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Belfort tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Belfort fails with the takedown. Belfort shoots in for a double leg but Jr sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Belfort shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jr clinches. Belfort breaks the clinch.
Belfort scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jr can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Belfort throwing shots but missing, from side control. Jr is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Belfort tries to advance to mount but can't. Belfort scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jr to see if he's OK. Jr struggling a bit here. Belfort decides to stand back up. Belfort steps back and let's Jr get back to his feet. Belfort shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jr manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Jr controlling Belfort's posture. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jr throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belfort drops back looking for a leg! Jr is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jr manages to kick Belfort off! Belfort jumps back into Jr's guard. Belfort looking to pass the guard. Jr preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Belfort wants to control from the top but Jr keeps moving. Belfort being controlled here momentarily. Belfort trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jr's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Belfort shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jr but Jr pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jr clinches with his opponent.
Belfort manages to break the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Jr. No joy for Belfort on that attempt. Belfort shoots and misses and Jr counters with a nice double leg into guard. Jr throws a big right hand that misses. A close round but Cake Jr will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Belfort shoots in but no luck this time. Jr throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Horrible takedown by Belfort or perhaps it was just good defense by Jr which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitor Belfort. That's going to take a lot out of him. Belfort swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Belfort is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Jr is keeping busy. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Jr has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Belfort pulls guard successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round. Belfort had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jr defends it easily. Jr stopping the sweep attempt from Belfort. Jr avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Belfort is defended easily by Jr.

Jr tries to close the distance and clinch but Belfort swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Belfort feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Belfort with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Belfort stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard. Belfort makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Belfort won't allow Jr to get back to his feet. Belfort passes Jr's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Jr is looking to control Belfort's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jr avoid being mounted? Jr tries to roll over but Belfort keeps him under control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Belfort shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jr sprawls well. Jr wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Belfort gets slowly back to his feet. Jr shoots in but no luck this time. Vitor Belfort is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jr swinging wildly here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Nice uppercut lands for Jr. That snapped Belfort's head back.

Jr tries to bum rush Belfort with a series of wild strikes but Belfort uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jr tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jr's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Jr duly obliges. Jr fails miserably with a takedown attempt. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vitor Belfort. I think Belfort has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
