PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between killa joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, killa joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane White!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has joe pinned against the cage. joe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
joe shoots and misses

so White counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
White wants to pass the guard but joe is keeping the position.

joe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
joe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
joe keeping moving, preventing White from controlling successfully.
White wanted to stand there but joe had control of the position.
joe keeping moving, preventing White from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

joe has closed the distance and engaged White in a clinch.
White tries to pull guard but joe won't allow it.
White tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. joe smiles and moves away.
killa joe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane White.
White fails with the takedown

and joe counters with a shoot takedown. White fights it but they end up in guard.
joe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
joe trying to control the position from guard on top but White is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
White is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

joe wanted to stand there but White had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
White wants to sweep but no luck.

joe drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and White dives on top into guard.
joe is breathing heavily.
joe can't keep his opponent in guard - White advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
joe tries to get to full guard but White has control of the leg.
joe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

White is trying to control the action in half guard but joe is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
joe missing with punches from the bottom.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. White connects with a nice short shot to joe's temple.
White is thwarting joe's attempts to control the position.
White wants to lay and pray for a moment but joe keeps working.
White is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for joe!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
White dominating with strikes here.
White prevents joe from getting the reversal.
joe is squirming around, avoiding White's attempts to control the action.
joe is working to get back to half guard.
joe looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
joe trying to control the hands but White won't let him.
joe wants to escape the position.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Shane White will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


White tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and joe counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for White!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
White tries to hold on but joe pushes him away.
joe throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
joe wants to control the pace but White is squirming around nicely.
joe throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for White because joe loaded up on that one.
White wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
joe prevents White from getting the reversal.

That's one minute gone in the round.
White tries to hold on but joe postures up.
White working to try and regain half guard.
joe controlling from mount.
joe landing strikes from the mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
joe can't control as he wanted to and White manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

White manages to escape and get back to his feet!
joe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around White's waist but White gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing joe off to one side.
White will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and White counters with a nice double leg into side control. joe won't be happy with that.
Shane White has got the better of the ground game so far.
joe gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
White is keen to just control but joe is a slippery customer.
White works his way into full mount!
The referee warns joe that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
joe tries to reverse the position but White maintains control.
White trying to control but joe is having none of it.
joe is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
joe is wriggling around trying to escape.
joe is working hard here to advance position.

White stands up from mount. Strange move.
joe with a lazy takedown attempt
and White counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for killa joe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
joe fails in his attempt to clinch.
White looks to clinch
and joe counters with a big head kick but White shrugs it off.
joe looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
joe keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Shane White will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

joe is trying to control but can't.
White lands with a punch from half guard.
White is figuring out what he wants to do next.
joe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. White is working away from the top position though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

joe is trying to control but White passes into side control!

White decides to stand up, so the ref orders joe to his feet.
joe throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting White counter with a right hand.
killa joe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

joe takes the fight into the clinch.
White tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

White has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed joe clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
joe looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
joe tries to break free.
White scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. joe is looking for a way out.
joe takes a big shot to the side of the head.
White lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns joe.
joe grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
White misses with punches from the back.
White biding his time, controlling joe.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
White is not going to allow joe to sit and survive in this position.
joe controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
joe rolls, trying to escape but White keeps control of the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

White working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but joe is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and White has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! joe taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Shane White!
