Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jon Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Semyon Kibidka! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Kibidka tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kibidka manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kibidka misses with a takedown enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab. Jones throws a head kick that misses. Jones digs a good body shot into Kibidka's ribs. Kibidka tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Kibidka throws a head kick that misses and Jones counters with a three punch combo that has Kibidka backing up. Kibidka nods at Jones to acknowledge the strikes. Kibidka swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones. Kibidka closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Kibidka pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jon Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Semyon Kibidka. Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Kibidka moves out of range easily. Jon Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones has a takedown stuffed. Kibidka rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kibidka pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kibidka shoots and misses and Jones holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Kibidka turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kibidka manages to end up in side control. Kibidka looks gassed! Kibidka sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Jones is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kibidka throws an elbow but Jones slips to the side and avoids it well. Kibidka creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jones sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Kibidka has knee on belly and moves into mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Kibidka can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jones bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Jones controlling from the top position. Kibidka wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones postures up in Kibidka's guard and throws a big left but Kibidka blocks it. Jones wants to control from the top but Kibidka keeps moving. Kibidka has momentary wrist control but Jones slips an elbow through the middle. Kibidka looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jones has picked Kibidka up and slammed him! Kibidka can't keep hold of the triangle and Jones manages to pass to side control! Kibidka takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kibidka is trying to get back to half guard. Kibidka wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Jones working the ground and pound from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kibidka taking a bit of punishment here - Jones scoring with strikes. Jones in side control, just content to control the action for now. Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kibidka on the ground. Jones has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Jones closes the distance but Kibidka moves to the side and Kibidka counters with an outside leg kick.
Jones is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kibidka's half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones winds up and cracks Kibidka with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. That's going to take a lot out of Semyon Kibidka. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Horrible takedown by Kibidka or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jones swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

He can't get it on this occasion though. Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kibidka tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it. Kibidka will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kibidka lands a nice leg kick that just misses Jones's sensitive parts. No luck for Kibidka with that takedown attempt. Jones swings away with a leg kick that misses. Jones wants to clinch but Kibidka slips to the side and Kibidka counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kibidka. Kibidka tries to pull guard but Jones won't allow it.

No luck for Kibidka with that takedown attempt. Kibidka will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jones is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Kibidka connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Kibidka shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Kibidka's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jon Jones is winning the standup battle so far. Jones misses with a series of wild punches.
Kibidka tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kibidka takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Jones fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kibidka wants to clinch. Jones is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kibidka.

Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Kibidka working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jones. Kibidka manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Jon Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
