Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alez Calypse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calypse comes into the arena with Prodigy - Spitfire blaring out of the sound system. Alez Calypse had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Alez Calypse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David West!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Calypse rushes West and presses him up against the cage.
Calypse lands with a short shot to the head.
Calypse content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Calypse misses with some punches.
Calypse taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Calypse keeps control of West as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

West breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Calypse shoots in but West avoids the takedown attempt easily.
West will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
David West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Calypse shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with West but West pushes him off and we're back to square one.
West misses with a few strikes there.
West cracks Calypse with a good jab.

West drops Calypse with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Calypse looks back up at him and smiles so West waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Calypse is rocked!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! West has cracked Calypse with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! West lands another huge swinging hook and Calypse tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Calypse, before West can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). David West!
