Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, David Cross! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ithalo Foreman! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cross misses with a straight right. Cross misses with a wild combination.
Cross moves out of range as Foreman strikes. Cross lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Foreman circles away quickly and effectively. Cross throws a big shot that misses. David Cross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Foreman tries to close the distance and clinch but Cross swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Foreman is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Foreman avoids the body shot from Cross.
Foreman digs a good body shot into Cross's ribs. Nice shot by Cross. Cross thuds a left hand into Foreman's body. Cross looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Foreman throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Foreman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Foreman closes the distance and clinches up with Cross, looking for a takedown. Foreman pushes Cross against the cage but Cross circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cross lands with an uppercut that bounces Foreman off the cage and back into rage. This has been an exciting period of action! Cross dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Cross leaves Foreman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Foreman looks gassed! Foreman checks a low kick from Cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cross shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Foreman's guard. Cross's corner is telling him to maintain position. Cross wants to pass the guard but Foreman is keeping the position. Cross sitting in guard here, content to control. Cross trying to control the position from guard on top but Foreman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cross works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cross is looking to advance position but Foreman won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cross looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Foreman actively working from the bottom here. Cross keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Foreman wants to get back to full guard but Cross has passed into side control. Foreman has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Foreman breaks Cross's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Cross lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Foreman! Cross controlling his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cross seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Foreman for as long as he can get away with. Foreman is desperately trying to improve his position but Cross has a good base and remains in mount. Cross tries to control but Foreman wriggling away. Cross prevents Foreman from getting the reversal. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Cross dominated that round. That's time! Cross's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Cross scores with a one two! Foreman had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Ithalo Foreman has been cut. Cross darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Foreman is trying to get back to full guard. Cross is trying to control. Foreman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of David Cross. Cross missing with a left hand there. Foreman was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Cross throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Foreman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cross swats him away and circles back towards the center. Cross tests Foreman's chin there with a solid looking shot. Cross bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Foreman is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cross scores with a nice strike. It's a brutal combination of punches from Cross! Foreman is backing up but he can't get away as Cross lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Foreman and ends the fight. Great knockout.
