Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Byron Derksen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Knockout Bob! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Joseph Jones and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bob misses with an uppercut. Derksen saw that one coming. Excellent takedown into side control there by Derksen. Bob is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Derksen's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Derksen trying to mount his opponent but Bob defends it. Derksen passes to full mount! Bob really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Derksen throws some wild stikes that Bob manages to avoid easily.

Derksen thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Derksen with a couple of short strikes.
It looks like Knockout Bob has been cut. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bob can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Derksen avoids the attempt from Bob to control. Bob is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
