The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rogers shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Johnson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Johnson is not content to let Rogers control the position.
Johnson wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Rogers trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom.
Rogers takes a little break here. Johnson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Johnson tries to escape but Rogers is in control.
Johnson seems a little lost for a moment, as Rogers dominates the positioning.
Rogers's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mario Rogers.

Johnson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rogers closes the distance and clinches.

Rogers gets control of Johnson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rogers will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Rogers, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Rogers against the cage but Rogers circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Rogers scores a takedown into full mount!
Rogers looks gassed!
Johnson is trying desperately to improve position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rogers with a couple of short strikes.
Johnson is trying to reverse the position but instead Rogers has taken his back - oops!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Johnson holding both Rogers 's hands and preventing any damage.
Rogers is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Johnson is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Rogers is trying to stick to Johnson's back but Johnson is turning into Rogers. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rogers's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Johnson.
Johnson throws and elbow that misses. Rogers uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Johnson's guard. Nice move by Rogers!
Rogers controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Rogers is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rogers passes Johnson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Johnson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rogers on the ground.
Johnson wants to control but Rogers is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Rogers is controlling the pace.

Rogers seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mario Rogers will probably get the nod.

Rogers closes the distance and clinches.
Johnson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Rogers can't get the takedown.

Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rogers lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Johnson tries a head kick but it misses.
Rogers showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Johnson.

Rogers closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rogers has Johnson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Johnson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Marc Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mario Rogers.

Rogers manages to break the clinch.
Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rogers moves away.

Rogers swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Johnson counters with a right hand to the body.
Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Johnson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Johnson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rogers to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Rogers sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johnson's guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rogers in particular looking to stall.

Rogers has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Johnson defend it? Rogers steps over the head and cranks it - Johnson is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Rogers!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mario Rogers!
