Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyosti Persposki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Tripp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tripp fails with the takedown.
Tripp shoots for a takedown but Persposki saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Persposki swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Persposki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tripp doesn't manage to clinch there - Persposki circles away.

Persposki shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tripp's guard.
Persposki trying to control the position from guard on top but Tripp is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Persposki controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Persposki's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Tripp wants to stand up but Persposki is controlling him.

Persposki trying to control but Tripp is working from the bottom.
Tripp is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tripp keeping moving, preventing Persposki from controlling successfully.
Persposki is breathing heavily.
Persposki pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tripp is keeping the position for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tripp connects with a body shot.
Tripp tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Persposki paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tripp wants to clinch.
Persposki takes a jab right on the kisser.

Tripp doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Persposki counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tripp!
Kyosti Persposki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Tripp.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Tripp is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Persposki has taken his back.
Persposki throwing wild punches that miss their target.
Tripp looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Persposki is hanging on to Tripp's back as he tries to escape.
Tripp wants to control his opponent's hands but Persposki gets his hands free.
Tripp is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Persposki off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Persposki keeps control of the position as Tripp tries to break free.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Persposki punches the canvas rather than the man.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Tripp is really stuck here.
Tripp manages to reverse the position and now he's in Persposki's guard. Nice work there by Tripp.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Persposki is looking to clinch but Tripp is avoiding it.

Persposki drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Persposki throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Tripp counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Persposki is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Tripp shoots and misses

and Persposki counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tripp!
Tripp tries to hold on but Persposki postures up.
Tripp really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Persposki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Persposki controlling the position easily from mount.
Tripp is in all sorts of trouble here.
Persposki takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Persposki goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Tripp turns into him and now he's in Persposki's guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Persposki wants to improve his position but instead Tripp has moved into half guard.
Tripp tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Persposki is trying is best to control the position here.
Persposki regains full guard. Nicely done.
Persposki manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Persposki is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Tripp is surviving well by controlling Persposki's body position as best he can.

Persposki content just to control the position here.
Tripp looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
A lull in the action here.
Persposki not allowing Tripp to control his hands.
Tripp is trying to break free.

Persposki slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
I really don't envy Tripp right now.

Tripp won't enjoy being in this position. Persposki looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Tripp is tapping - it's over boys! Persposki picks up the submission victory!
