And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nohjay Nimpson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roosevelt pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Truman Roosevelt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nimpson thows a body shot but no joy.
Roosevelt throws a push kick but Nimpson slaps the foot to one side.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Roosevelt throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Nimpson is trying to break the clinch but Roosevelt is controlling him.
Nimpson working aggressively here.
Roosevelt tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Nimpson avoids it.

It looks like Nohjay Nimpson has been cut.
Roosevelt throws an elbow but it misses.

Roosevelt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Roosevelt tries to land a front kick but Nimpson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Nimpson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Roosevelt moves away.
A head kick misses from Roosevelt.
Roosevelt dodges the punch combination from Nimpson.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nimpson. Roosevelt does a little dance to reset his feet.

Roosevelt lands a big head kick that sends Nimpson tumbling to the mat! Roosevelt takes a step backwards and waves Nimpson back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Nimpson is rocked!
Roosevelt loads up on a big right hand but Nimpson slips the punch.
Nimpson is still on wobbly legs! Can Roosevelt finish him?
Roosevelt throws a looping overhand right but Nimpson ducks down to avoid it.
Nimpson seems to have recovered his senses.

Roosevelt slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.


The cut above Nohjay Nimpson's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Nimpson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Roosevelt rather than just go for the knockout.
Nimpson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Nimpson darts in trying to clinch
and Roosevelt counters with a body kick that stops Nimpson in his tracks momentarily.
Nimpson drops his hands momentarily and Roosevelt takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Nimpson blocks a head kick by Roosevelt.
Nimpson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Roosevelt is looking to land body kicks.
Nimpson tries to clinch up but Roosevelt circles away and keeps his distance.
Roosevelt closes the distance but Nimpson moves to the side
and Nimpson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crunch! Roosevelt slams his shin into Nimpson's torso.
Nimpson just misses with a punch to the body.
Nimpson moves out of range of the body kick from Roosevelt.

Nimpson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Roosevelt's corner calls for a 1-2. Roosevelt obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

and Nimpson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Roosevelt has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Roosevelt lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Nimpson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Nimpson is looking to control Roosevelt's arms but Roosevelt gets an underhook and turns him. Now Nimpson has his back to the cage.

Nohjay Nimpson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Nimpson on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Roosevelt.
Nimpson presses Roosevelt against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
With the fighters up against the cage, Roosevelt throws an elbow but misses.
Nimpson blocks the elbow strike.
Roosevelt creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Nimpson's defenses.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Nohjay Nimpson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
