Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Rentillosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Dutra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matheus Dutra will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dennis Rentillosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matheus Dutra!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rentillosa shoots for a takedown but Dutra saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Rentillosa gets a takedown into half guard.
Dutra wants to control but Rentillosa is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Dutra is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rentillosa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rentillosa's back!
Dutra has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Rentillosa's body.
You can see the frustration on Rentillosa's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Rentillosa is working hard here to advance position.
Rentillosa looking very determined here, making life difficult for Dutra.
Dutra biding his time, looking for the opening.
Rentillosa tries to escape the position.

Dutra is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Rentillosa has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rentillosa tries to escape but Dutra has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Dutra lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Dutra is trying to stick to Rentillosa's back but Rentillosa is turning into Dutra. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Dutra's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rentillosa.
Dutra wants to stand and escape but Rentillosa is having none of it.

Rentillosa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Rentillosa drops back looking for a leg! Dutra is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dutra manages to kick Rentillosa off! Rentillosa jumps back into Dutra's guard.
Rentillosa is breathing heavily.
Rentillosa trying to control but Dutra is working from the bottom.
Dutra is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Rentillosa wants to pass the guard but Dutra is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dutra not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Dutra gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Rentillosa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Dutra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rentillosa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dutra can't keep his opponent in guard - Rentillosa advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Dutra missing with punches from the bottom.
Dutra is looking to improve his position.

Dutra kicks Rentillosa off and gets back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dutra connects with a high kick.

Dutra throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rentillosa was covering up waiting for the punch and Dutra finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Dutra trying to control the position from guard on top but Rentillosa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dutra has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rentillosa is proving hard to escape from.
Rentillosa tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rentillosa keeping full guard, as Dutra tries to pass.

Rentillosa is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dutra is aware though and is defending well.

Dutra thows a big elbow that misses.

Rentillosa looking for a guillotine here but Dutra defends easily.

Dutra stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Rentillosa scores with a takedown into Dutra's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dutra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rentillosa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rentillosa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rentillosa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dennis Rentillosa dominated that round.
That's time! Rentillosa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Dutra scores with a takedown into Rentillosa's guard.

Rentillosa is working an open guard so Dutra takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Dennis Rentillosa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dutra looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rentillosa avoids the head kick by Dutra.

Rentillosa looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Rentillosa is looking for a kimura but Dutra is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rentillosa to get the leverage.
Dutra is trying to maintain the position but Rentillosa is very close to passing his half guard.
Rentillosa stops Dutra from getting back to his feet.
Rentillosa wants to free his trapped foot but Dutra is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rentillosa prevents Dutra from improving his position.

Rentillosa wants to work for an arm triangle but Dutra is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Dutra is trying to stand.

Rentillosa has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Dutra defend it? Rentillosa steps over the head and cranks it - Dutra is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Rentillosa!
