Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Winston Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bonza Banks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gunn comes to the cage accompanied by Highway of Heros-The Trews. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Winston Gunn! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bonza Banks! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gunn lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Bonza Banks has been cut. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Banks defending well as Gunn loads up on a big left hand. Banks throws a series of punches but Gunn moves out of range. Banks looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Decent striking displayed by Gunn there. Horrible takedown by Banks or perhaps it was just good defense by Gunn which made him look bad. Banks throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gunn's waist but Gunn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Banks off to one side. Winston Gunn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bonza Banks. Gunn throws a looping overhand right but Banks ducks down to avoid it. Banks takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Banks checks the leg kick nicely there.
Gunn bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Gunn swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
so Banks counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Banks wants to control from the top but Gunn keeps moving. Gunn pulls Banks in close to prevent any damage. Banks throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banks missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gunn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gunn has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Banks trying to control the position from guard on top but Gunn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gunn looking for a sweep. Not yet Gunn, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Banks feints and as Gunn raises his hands in defense, Banks changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Gunn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gunn looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Gunn working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Banks has passed into half guard!
Gunn is trying to maintain the position but Banks is very close to passing his half guard. Banks wants to control but Gunn is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Banks is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gunn has managed to free his arm - good work. Banks missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Banks winds up and cracks Gunn with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Gunn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Banks not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Banks prevents Gunn from improving his position. Banks is controlling the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Banks trying to control the action but Gunn is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Banks seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Winston Gunn will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Bonza Banks's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Gunn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Banks throws a body punch but Gunn moves out of range. Banks shoots in for a takedown but Gunn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Gunn connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Banks looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gunn is fending him off so far but Banks persists. Nope, Gunn circles away and we're back to standing. Banks shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gunn but Gunn pushes him off and we're back to square one. Gunn misses with a body shot.
Gunn tries to bum rush Banks with a series of wild strikes but Banks uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Gunn punishes Banks's body with a nice straight punch. Gunn throws a shot from downtown. Banks moves away and avoids it. Winston Gunn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A left lands for Gunn. Banks has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gunn finds it's way round the side to connect with Banks's head. Banks uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gunn.
Gunn throws a nice outside leg kick. Winston Gunn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Banks is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Banks misses with an uppercut. Gunn saw that one coming. Gunn lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A cross from Gunn lands. Banks looks for a takedown but Gunn sprawls well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banks misses the jab. Gunn throws a leg kick but Banks checks it. Gunn misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gunn stuns Banks with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Gunn with a jab. Banks takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gunn avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gunn goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
That has opened up Bonza Banks's cut even more. Gunn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gunn scores with a jab. Good exchange - Gunn coming out on top. Gunn cracks Banks with a right hand to the side of the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Banks fails with a takedown attempt. A cross from Gunn lands. Gunn throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gunn works Banks's body with a nice hook. Gunn feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Banks's calf. Gunn is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Gunn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Banks circles away quickly and effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A punch lands to the side of Banks 's head but he takes it in his stride. Nice defenses there by Gunn. Gunn lands a really nice looking cross but Banks seems unphased.
A combination from Gunn does no damage. Gunn uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Banks just misses with a punch to the body.
Banks chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gunn can pounce on him.
Gunn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gunn with a jab. Gunn lunges at Banks with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Banks's hand.
The cut above Bonza Banks's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Nice takedown defense from Gunn. No joy for Banks on that attempt. A nice combination there by Gunn.
Gunn lands a two punch combo.
Gunn digs a good hook to Banks's body.
Gunn jabs Banks right on the nose. Banks blinks but takes it well.
Bonza Banks's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Gunn scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Nice straight punches there by Gunn. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gunn. Gunn scoring well with a low kick there.
Gunn just misses with a punch to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Banks looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bonza Banks's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Winston Gunn! Winston Gunn retains his heavyweight title!
