The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
lamotta lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Mikhail Ligachev has been cut.
lamotta misses with a wild combination.
Ligachev misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ligachev uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from lamotta.
lamotta misses with a looping left.
Ligachev tries to clinch there but lamotta circles away.
lamotta on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Ligachev ducks under a wild hook from lamotta.
Ligachev avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
lamotta misses with a hook.
lamotta displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Ligachev throws a nice outside leg kick.
lamotta throws a lazy right hand but Ligachev sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ligachev throws the kick towards the body but lamotta avoids it.

and Ligachev takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Ligachev is rocked!
Ligachev motions for lamotta to come forward. Ligachev throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Oh Ligachev is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ligachev moves into the clinch successfully.
Ligachev seems to have got his legs back now.

Ligachev defends well against a solid takedown attempt from lamotta.
lamotta swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

lamotta throws a lazy right hand but Ligachev sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Ligachev swings and misses with a hook to the body.
lamotta lands a jab to the nose.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ligachev throws a head kick but lamotta moves out of range.
Ligachev steps to the side to avoid the strikes from lamotta.
Ligachev takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
lamotta looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ligachev is fending him off so far but lamotta persists. Nope, Ligachev circles away and we're back to standing.

Ligachev throws a front kick aimed at lamotta's knee but lamotta avoids it well.
Ligachev throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
lamotta connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Ligachev! He's out on his feet! lamotta rushes in and drops Ligachev with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
