The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mortis shoots in for a double leg but Johnson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Johnson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mortis to the mat! Mortis manages to get full guard.

Mortis stays in close to Johnson's body and controls the position.
Mortis tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.
Johnson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mortis is controlling him.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mortis sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Mortis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Mortis is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Mortis has hold of Johnson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Johnson seems comfortable defending it but Mortis has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Johnson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Johnson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Mortis couldn't care less - he's delighted!
