Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bill Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwight Elkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bill Clay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dwight Elkins!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clay moves out of range as Elkins strikes.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Clay tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Elkins paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Clay will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Clay fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Elkins avoids it really well and circles away.
Clay misses with a jab, cross combination.
Elkins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Clay pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A jab from Elkins does it's job there.
Clay closes the distance and clinches up with Elkins, looking for a takedown. Clay pushes Elkins against the cage but Elkins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bill Clay. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A combination from Clay does no damage.
Elkins showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Clay.
Clay throws a head kick but Elkins moves out of range.
Elkins chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Elkins swats away the attempt to clinch by Clay.
Elkins avoids the head kick by Clay.
Clay tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Elkins scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Clay takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

You can see the frustration on Clay's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Elkins thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Clay on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Clay is trying to get back to his feet.
Elkins is putting a hurting on Clay here, landing some big shots from side control.
Clay takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Elkins is trying to get an arm triangle but Clay is defending well.
Elkins lands a decent elbow from side control.
Clay is pushing Elkins's head away, looking to escape. Elkins manages to hold on to the position though.
Elkins scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Clay to see if he's OK.

Elkins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Clay is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Elkins creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Clay tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Elkins wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Elkins in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Clay tries to improve position but can't.
Elkins prevents Clay from escaping the position.
Clay is breathing heavily.
You can see the frustration on Clay's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Elkins lands an elbow.
Elkins tries to move into full mount but can't pass Clay's legs.
Elkins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Clay is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Clay is refusing to be controlled, as Elkins sits in half guard.
Clay is looking for a sweep. Elkins is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Clay manages to get to full guard.
Elkins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Elkins pushes down on Clay's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Elkins is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Clay won't allow Elkins to pass to mount.
Elkins throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Clay trying to control from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Elkins tries to pass the half guard into mount. Clay knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Elkins lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Clay gets full guard.
Clay keeping moving, preventing Elkins from controlling successfully.

Elkins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Clay has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Elkins has managed to get both his arms back between Clay's legs - danger averted.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Elkins with a nice head shot there.
Clay utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Elkins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Clay has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Elkins has managed to get both his arms back between Clay's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Elkins postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Elkins drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Elkins as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Clay screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Elkins! Nice submission victory there!
