Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Caio Gimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel LaRusso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel LaRusso is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Gimenez with that takedown attempt.
Gimenez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
LaRusso pivots, looking for a leg kick but Gimenez is out of range and LaRusso settles back down.
LaRusso missing with a left hand there. Gimenez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gimenez tries to close the distance and clinch but LaRusso swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
LaRusso defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gimenez.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

LaRusso throws out a leg kick but Gimenez moves out of range and LaRusso only half commits.

Gimenez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts LaRusso as he jumps to the side.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel LaRusso dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


LaRusso misses with a low kick as Gimenez jumps back.
Gimenez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. LaRusso tries to avoid it but Gimenez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag LaRusso to the ground. LaRusso escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

LaRusso is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Gimenez is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, LaRusso has managed to escape the submission attempt.
LaRusso wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Gimenez lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
LaRusso really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gimenez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gimenez lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

LaRusso is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Gimenez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gimenez throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
LaRusso is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Gimenez cracks LaRusso with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Gimenez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as LaRusso is looking to escape.
LaRusso is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Gimenez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Gimenez has control of LaRusso's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and LaRusso regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Gimenez dives in and grabs LaRusso's left leg, looking for a takedown. LaRusso pushes down on Gimenez's head and hops out.

Gimenez shoots for a double leg takedown but LaRusso sprawls well. He's pushed Gimenez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

LaRusso throws a low kick, looking for Gimenez's leg but Gimenez calmly moves out of range.

Horrible takedown by Gimenez or perhaps it was just good defense by LaRusso which made him look bad.

Gimenez shoots in looking for a takedown. LaRusso tries to sprawl out of it but Gimenez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. LaRusso manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters circling - LaRusso throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
LaRusso fails to land with a series of punches.
LaRusso tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gimenez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
LaRusso looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
LaRusso throws a jab when Gimenez was well out of range.

And that's the end of the fight!
Daniel LaRusso comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think LaRusso has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
