Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Melhim Abu Shahin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffrey Gill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abu Shahin comes to the cage accompanied by Desert Rose. Gill has chosen Welcome to the Jungle as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Melhim Abu Shahin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeffrey Gill! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gill tries to score a power double leg takedown but Abu Shahin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gill somewhat. Gill shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gill showed some decent athleticism there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gill is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Abu Shahin defends it well. Gill not landing any meaningful shots this time. Abu Shahin is trying to get back to full guard. Gill working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Abu Shahin's thigh. Abu Shahin counters though and makes it back to full guard. Gill throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gill throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gill working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Gill missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gill fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Abu Shahin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gill's head. Gill shoots in and drives through. Abu Shahin sprawls well. Melhim Abu Shahin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeffrey Gill. Abu Shahin lands a jab to Gill's midsection. Gill looks gassed! Gill fails to land the takedown. Abu Shahin leaves Gill with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Abu Shahin lands a jab to the nose. A jab-cross combination lands for Abu Shahin and sends Gill crashing to the mat! Abu Shahin follows him down to the mat - Gill regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Gill is rocked!
It looks like Jeffrey Gill has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Abu Shahin lands a big elbow - Gill is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Abu Shahin!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Melhim Abu Shahin!
