Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Saguro Takada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Develen Elvington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Saguro Takada! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Develen Elvington! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takada misses with a wild body shot. Elvington avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Elvington throws a half hearted mid kick. Elvington circles away from the clinch attempt.
Elvington misses with a takedown attempt - Takada sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A slow jab from Takada misses its intended target. Elvington looks to land a combination but Takada avoids it well. Elvington misses with an attempted mid kick.

Elvington shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Takada but Takada pushes him off and we're back to square one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Elvington fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Takada. Elvington throws a nice inside leg kick. Takada checks a leg kick. A close round but Develen Elvington will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Takada crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Elvington - the referee stops the clock and Takada gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Elvington. Takada manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. The fight stays on the outside here - Elvington looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Takada throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Elvington sees it coming and avoids it easily. Develen Elvington is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Elvington. A swing and a miss from Elvington. That's two minutes gone in the round. Elvington throws a strike but Takada rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Elvington is looking to stand up but Takada isn't so interested in that idea.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Takada controls Elvington momentarily but Elvington frees himself. Saguro Takada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Elvington throws an elbow but Takada slips to the side and avoids it well. Takada prevents Elvington from improving position. Elvington landing a few strikes. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Elvington working the ground and pound. Takada is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Elvington scores with a couple of short elbows. Elvington tries to advance to mount but Takada denies him. Elvington in the domination position with Takada hanging on. Develen Elvington is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. A lull in the action here as Elvington stalls from top position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Takada tries to buck Elvington off but Elvington is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Develen Elvington comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Elvington has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
