Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and ross peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller's entrance music is Drunk. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying peters's choice of entrance music: one step closer . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Miller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, ross peters! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller tries to close the distance and clinch up but peters swats him away and circles back towards the center. Miller misses with a hook. peters scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! peters scores with a couple of short elbows. Miller tries to buck peters off but peters is having none of it. Miller is working hard here to advance position. peters lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Miller down.
Miller tries to improve position but can't. Miller is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked peters off and has taken his back! peters is trying to break free.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miller tries to keep control of the position but peters is staying busy. peters breaks Miller's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Miller will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Miller wants to sweep here but peters controlling him for the moment. peters must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. peters drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and peters jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Miller is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Miller had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. peters is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Miller Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take peters's back instead. Will Miller go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

He has one arm under the chin but peters has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. peters is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Miller gets his way!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Miller struggling to keep hold of the position.

It looks like ross peters has been cut. Miller tries to get the hooks in deep but peters pushed the leg off. Miller is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. peters defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Miller tries to keep control of the position but peters is staying busy. peters is trying to break free.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jim Miller just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Miller wants to clinch. Jim Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Miller throws a leg kick but peters moved away. Miller moves in looking to clinch but peters pushes him off. Miller tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Miller gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.

Miller has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but peters can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Miller looking for a guillotine here but peters defends easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Miller has his foot on peters's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. peters works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It's preventing any offense from peters, at least for the moment. peters in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. peters wants to pass the guard but Miller is keeping the position. Miller tries to land a sweep but no joy. Miller had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. peters is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Miller passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for peters! Miller with a couple of short strikes.
