Alves has chosen Jammin' - Bob Marley as his entrance music. Assimou Nazuli has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nazuli looks for a takedown but Alves sprawls well.
Nazuli lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Nazuli shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Nazuli scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Alves tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alves is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Nazuli wants to stand but Alves is controlling his arm.
Nazuli tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nazuli has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Nazuli thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Nazuli will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nazuli swings around for an armbar but Alves sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nazuli's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nazuli wants to hit a switch here but Alves passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Nazuli there!

Nazuli is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Alves locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Nazuli is forced to tap!
