Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luc Deveraux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Syd Scarr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Luc Deveraux! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Syd Scarr! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deveraux throws a hook to the side of Scarr's head but Scarr sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Deveraux looks to land a right hand but Scarr moved out of range. Scarr tries to clinch but Deveraux is having none of it. Scarr defending well as Deveraux loads up on a big left hand. Scarr tries to close the distance and clinch but Deveraux swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Deveraux moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. A chopping leg kick lands by Deveraux. Scarr stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Deveraux. Scarr is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Deveraux feints and as Scarr raises his hands in defense, Deveraux changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Deveraux controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Luc Deveraux. A slow jab from Deveraux misses its intended target. Scarr tries to clinch up but Deveraux circles away and keeps his distance. Deveraux throws a head kick but Scarr moves out of range.

A combination from Deveraux does no damage. Scarr fails with the takedown and Deveraux counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Deveraux is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Scarr's half guard. Deveraux content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Deveraux has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Scarr takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Deveraux shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Scarr manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Scarr preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Deveraux thows a big elbow that misses. Deveraux has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Deveraux slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Deveraux is looking to work some ground and pound but Scarr has wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deveraux escapes and gets back to his feet. Scarr moves into range and clinches up with Deveraux. A short right from Deveraux on the inside. Deveraux lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Scarr gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Deveraux.
Scarr blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Scarr is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Scarr tries to land knees in the clinch but Deveraux avoids the damage to the body.

Deveraux is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Scarr is defending well for now. Scarr is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Scarr will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Deveraux up against the cage. Deveraux turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Deveraux manages to end up in side control. Deveraux controls the position from side control. Deveraux stands up and we're back to a striking position. Scarr closes the distance but Deveraux moves to the side and Deveraux counters with a left and a right that stings Scarr.

Scarr is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Scarr tries to clinch up and Deveraux counters with a lovely straight right hand! Deveraux thuds his right hand into Scarr's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. A jab lands there for Deveraux. Deveraux lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Deveraux with a nice cross. Deveraux lands a nice leg kick that just misses Scarr's sensitive parts.

And that's the end of the fight! Luc Deveraux showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Deveraux, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
