Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sexton looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sexton lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Uy misses with a takedown attempt - Sexton sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Sexton throws a jab but it's blocked by Uy. Sexton works over Uy's head and body with a nice combination. Sexton stuns Uy with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Sexton misses with a straight left. Dave Sexton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sexton misses the shot to the body. Horrible takedown by Uy or perhaps it was just good defense by Sexton which made him look bad. Uy has closed the distance and engaged Sexton in a clinch.
Uy tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sammy Uy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Uy goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sexton prevents it.
Sexton is looking to break free of the clinch but Uy has double underhooks. Uy has hold of one of Sexton's legs. Sexton is fighting the takedown attempt but Uy gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Sexton wants to sweep but no luck. Uy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Uy lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sexton wants to hit a switch here but Uy passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sexton there! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sexton is looking to get to half guard. Uy wants to control the pace but Sexton is squirming around nicely. Uy punishing his opponent with strikes. Sexton tries to hold on but Uy postures up. Uy working Sexton over with strikes here. Sexton is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sexton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Uy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Uy breaks from Sexton's wrist control and lands an elbow. Sexton tries to reverse the position but Uy maintains control. Sexton looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Uy looking to finish Sexton with some ground and pound. This is bad for Sexton! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Uy scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Sexton?
Uy lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Sexton is rocked! Uy wants to finish this one by submission but Sexton is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Uy. Sexton is still in real trouble! Can Uy finish him? Sexton wants to control but Uy is having none of it. Sexton seems to have recovered his senses. Sexton takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Sexton tries to lock up and control but Uy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Sexton is squirming around, avoiding Uy's attempts to control the action. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. The referee warns Sexton that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Uy avoids the attempt from Sexton to control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sexton can do anything to dispel that myth. Uy lands a heavy elbow. Uy looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Uy breaks from Sexton's wrist control and lands an elbow. Uy is in the full mount, landing strikes. Sexton takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Uy postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Sexton in real trouble here! The ref calls for Sexton to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
