PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darth Drizzit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bailey Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Page comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Undead kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Page or perhaps it was just good defense by Drizzit which made him look bad.
The fight stays on the outside here - Drizzit looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Page lands a front kick.
Drizzit shoots in looking for a takedown. Page tries to sprawl out of it but Drizzit keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Page manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Page throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Drizzit's waist but Drizzit gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Page off to one side.
Page is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Drizzit scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Page throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Page tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Page flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Drizzit tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Page.
Page has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Page wants to get back to his feet.

Drizzit got a little sloppy there for a moment and Page has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Drizzit has managed to get both his arms back between Page's legs - danger averted.

Page wants to sweep here but Drizzit controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Drizzit wants to pass the guard but Page is keeping the position.
Page keeping moving, preventing Drizzit from controlling successfully.
Page manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Drizzit is wriggling around trying to escape.
Page is landing with some decent strikes but Drizzit is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Drizzit flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Page postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Drizzit looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Drizzit is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Drizzit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Page on the ground.
Drizzit is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Drizzit closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Page tries to strike but it doesn't land.

Page is pushing Drizzit's head away, looking to escape. Drizzit manages to hold on to the position though.
Page is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Drizzit's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Drizzit has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Page works to full guard.
Drizzit has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Drizzit wants to pass the guard but Page is keeping the position.

Page is looking to sinch up a triangle. Drizzit throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Page's body to avoid the submission. Page has instead reached around Drizzit's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Page arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
