Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between CJ Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruth Ginsberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruth Ginsberg will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, CJ Riley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ruth Ginsberg!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ginsberg tries to work over Riley's front leg with a kick but Riley checks it.
Ginsberg avoids the head kick by Riley.
Riley shoots in and drives through. Ginsberg sprawls well.
Riley swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Riley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ginsberg's waist but Ginsberg gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Riley off to one side.
Ginsberg lands a jab-cross combination.
Riley misses the shot to the body.

Ginsberg clinches up against the cage.

Riley successfully pulls guard.
Ginsberg won't allow Riley to sweep him here.

Riley working for a triangle but Ginsberg defends it easily.
Riley has a closed guard, preventing Ginsberg from standing up.
Riley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Riley looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Riley is trying to control the action in half guard but Ginsberg is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Ginsberg is looking for a sweep. Riley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Riley seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ginsberg does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Riley is looking for a kimura here.

Riley is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ginsberg is just riding it out for now. Riley eventually gives up the hold.
Riley throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ginsberg looks like he's trying to stand up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Riley bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Riley will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for CJ Riley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Riley is breathing heavily.
Riley shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ginsberg misses with a two punch combination.

Riley moves into range and clinches up with Ginsberg.
Riley goes for a takedown attempt but Ginsberg pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Riley misses with a body shot.
Ginsberg lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Ginsberg uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Ginsberg misses with a series of wild punches.
Ginsberg throws an overhand right that lands on Riley's shoulder, as Riley tries to avoid the shot.
Riley shoots in but Ginsberg avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Riley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ginsberg is fending him off so far but Riley persists. Nope, Ginsberg circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck for Riley with that takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Riley tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Ginsberg counters with a nice low kick that buckles Riley's knee momentarily.
Ginsberg lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Ginsberg lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Ginsberg will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ginsberg fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Riley has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Riley there as he acknowledges the shot.
The fighters circling - Ginsberg throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Riley misses with a takedown
and Ginsberg counters with a three punch combo that has Riley backing up. Riley nods at Ginsberg to acknowledge the strikes.
Ginsberg will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Riley avoids the head kick by Ginsberg.

and Ginsberg counters with a series of strikes. Riley will be more careful next time no doubt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Riley misses with a takedown
and Ginsberg makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ginsberg.
Riley throws a leg kick that is checked
and Ginsberg counters with an outside leg kick.
Ginsberg checks a leg kick.
Riley scores with a hook to the body. Ginsberg takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

and Ginsberg counters with a shoot takedown. Riley fights it but they end up in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Ginsberg is looking to stand up but Riley won't let him.

Ginsberg avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Riley is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Ginsberg rolls with it to try and escape but Riley cranks on the arm and Ginsberg is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
