Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonas Weir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Bourque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonas Weir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Bourque! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bourque changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Weir looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Weir holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Bourque fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Bourque postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Weir takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Weir is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Bourque taking a breather here. Bourque goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Weir rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bourque's guard! Nice work there by Weir! Bourque keeping moving, preventing Weir from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bourque looking to hit a scissor sweep but Weir is one step ahead there. Bourque looks gassed! Weir postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Weir trying to control but Bourque is working from the bottom. Bourque looking for a sweep. Not yet Bourque, not yet. Bourque being controlled here, momentarily. Bourque trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Weir trying to control but Bourque is working from the bottom. Bourque throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Bourque is trying to control the position but Weir postures up. Bourque wants to sweep here but Weir controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Weir sitting in guard, not really doing much. Weir won't allow Bourque to sweep him here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they both work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bourque being controlled here, momentarily. Weir has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Weir wants to control from the top but Bourque keeps moving. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bourque being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jonas Weir. Bourque takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

A close round but Tim Bourque will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Bourque looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Weir is fending him off so far but Bourque persists. Nope, Weir circles away and we're back to standing. Jonas Weir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Weir lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Weir darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Weir lands a two punch combo.
Bourque ducks right into an uppercut from Weir. Good shot there by Weir. Weir misses with a double jab.

Bourque moves forwards but Weir connects with a nice, crisp jab. Weir misses with the combination.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bourque. Weir clobbers Bourque with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Weir throws out a powerful jab. Weir scores with a jab. Bourque walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. A punch lands to the side of Bourque 's head but he takes it in his stride. Weir lands with an uppercut that bounces Bourque off the cage and back into rage. Tim Bourque seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bourque is breathing heavily. Bourque takes one to the side of the head.
Nice uppercut there from Weir. Weir has Bourque up against the cage in a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Weir tries to stall but Bourque uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Jonas Weir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Bourque. Weir lands with a short head shot on the inside. Weir gets underhooks to prevent Bourque's takedown attempt.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bourque is on top in guard.

Weir utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Bourque controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bourque won't allow Weir to sweep him here. Bourque stops Weir from standing up. Bourque trying to control but Weir is working from the bottom. Bourque is looking to advance position but Weir has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Bourque swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Bourque taking shots to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Weir raining down shots from the mount! Weir avoids the attempt from Bourque to control. Weir controlling the position easily from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bourque throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Bourque is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Weir sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Weir with a couple of short strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bourque drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Weir is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Weir stalks Bourque and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bourque's face. Bourque staggers backwards, shaken. Weir throws a series of strikes that have Bourque backpedaling.
Bourque looks for a takedown but Weir sprawls well. Bourque drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily.Sloppy strikes there by Bourque. Bourque wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weir keeps working.

Bourque throwing strikes but Weir manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Weir can do anything to dispel that myth. Weir moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Bourque is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Weir is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Bourque really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Weir tries to control but Bourque wriggling away. Bourque tries to hold on but Weir postures up. Bourque swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Bourque regains half guard. Weir wants to control but Bourque is keeping him busy. Bourque moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bourque throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Weir pushing down on Bourque's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Weir content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Weir blocks the strikes from Bourque.
Bourque is looking to improve his position.
Weir wants to pass to mount but Bourque is defending the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bourque regains full guard. Nicely done. Bourque trying to keep a closed guard but Weir is proving a slippery customer.
Bourque wants to improve his position but instead Weir has moved into half guard.
Bourque throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Weir prevents Bourque from improving his position. Weir uses his free foot to push down on Bourque's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bourque.
And that's the end of the fight! Jonas Weir showed his dominance in that final round. I think Weir has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
