Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Hugh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Loeffler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Loeffler has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loeffler keeps the fight on the outside.

Loeffler closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hugh to the mat! Hugh manages to get full guard.
Loeffler with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Loeffler is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Loeffler is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hugh wants to sweep here but Loeffler controlling him for the moment.
Hugh wants to stand up but Loeffler is controlling him.
Loeffler landing some decent shots from guard.
Hugh wants to get back to his feet but Loeffler is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hugh looking for a sweep. Not yet Hugh, not yet.
Hugh wants to stand and escape but Loeffler is having none of it.

Loeffler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Hugh moves in looking to clinch but Loeffler pushes him off.
Loeffler avoids a kick to the body.

Hugh displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Loeffler.
Hugh tries to close the distance and clinch up but Loeffler swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hugh looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Loeffler lands a jab to Hugh's midsection.
James Hugh is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Loeffler shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hugh is breathing heavily.

Loeffler is looking for a kimura but Hugh is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Loeffler to get the leverage.
Hugh wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Loeffler lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Hugh tries to get to full guard but Loeffler has control of the leg.
Loeffler passes the guard and advances to mount!

Loeffler looking to secure an arm triangle but Hugh defends it well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Loeffler is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hugh to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hugh shrugs it off.

Loeffler is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hugh is surviving well by controlling Loeffler's body position as best he can.

Loeffler has hold of Hugh's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hugh manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Hugh tries to reverse the position but Loeffler maintains control.

Hugh tries to roll over but Loeffler keeps him under control.
Hugh tries to kick Loeffler off but Loeffler keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Loeffler slips a nice elbow through Hugh's hands, connecting with Hugh's forehead.
Hugh wants to get back to his feet.

Loeffler is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Hugh is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
