The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rostov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hammerlik is trying to defend but Rostov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hammerlik gets to his feet. Rostov looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Hammerlik lands with an uppercut that bounces Rostov off the cage and back into rage.
Hammerlik works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Rostov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hammerlik circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rostov.
Hammerlik closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Hammerlik slaps away a takedown attempt from Rostov, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sergei Rostov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rostov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hammerlik connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Hammerlik throws a hook to the side of Rostov's head but Rostov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rostov tries for a takedown but Hammerlik sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hammerlik darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Hammerlik. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hammerlik throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Rostov misses with a takedown attempt - Hammerlik sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The crowd cheers as Hammerlik lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rostov doesn't seem phased though.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hammerlik, right into the meat.
Hammerlik steps into range and cracks Rostov with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Rostov flops backwards and Hammerlik dives into his guard looking to finish!
Rostov is rocked!
Hammerlik controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Hammerlik gets to his feet - Rostov follows without any prompting.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hammerlik swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Nice body kick from Hammerlik.
Hammerlik moves into range and connects with a jab.
Sergei Rostov's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Hammerlik connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rostov's hands.
Jeez, Sergei Rostov's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Hammerlik throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Rostov tumbling to the canvas!
Oh Rostov is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
