Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jr stuffs the takedown.
Jr punishes Laffer's body with a nice straight punch.
Laffer shoots in but Jr avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jr checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Jr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Laffer.

Laffer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jr sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Laffer somewhat.

Jr shoots in and bounces Laffer off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Jr throws out a loose jab but Laffer uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jr decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Laffer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Laffer is positioning himself well to prevent Jr advancing to mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Laffer tries to roll over but Jr keeps him under control.

Jr postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Laffer looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Laffer is working hard here to advance position.
Jr lands a big shot there that rocks Laffer but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Murdock Jr dominated that round.

Laffer with a lazy takedown attempt
and Jr decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Laffer's guard.
Jr has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Laffer is pulling down on Jr's head. It's preventing any offense from Jr, at least for the moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Laffer is on top in guard.

No joy there for Laffer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Jr counters with a thumping low kick.
Jr swats away the attempt to clinch by Laffer.

Jr looks for the body kick but Laffer saw that one coming.

and Jr counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Jr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Laffer's head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Laffer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jr's guard.
Jr throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Laffer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jr is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Laffer, into his guard.

Murdock Jr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Laffer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Jr tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jr regains half guard, as Laffer was trying to land strikes.

Laffer pushes Jr off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Murdock Jr comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jr has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
