Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sir Topham Hatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Richter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hatt comes to the cage accompanied by .. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sir Topham Hatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, John Richter!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hatt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Richter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hatt working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hatt working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Hatt tries for a kimura but Richter is defending well.
Richter gets back to half guard.

Richter tries to get to full guard but Hatt has control of the leg.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hatt shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Richter is trying to defend but Hatt finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Richter wants to control but Hatt is keeping busy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Sir Topham Hatt will probably get the nod.

Richter is looking to clinch but Hatt is avoiding it.
Hatt ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Richter moves away.

and Hatt counters with a shoot takedown. Richter fights it but they end up in guard.

Hatt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Richter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hatt has gone for a leg lock! Richter slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hatt's guard.

Hatt is pulling down on Richter's head. It's preventing any offense from Richter, at least for the moment.
Hatt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hatt wants to sweep but no luck.

The fighters are battling for position here. Hatt manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hatt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Richter's guard.

Richter looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hatt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Richter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Hatt here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hatt throws an overhand right that lands on Richter's shoulder, as Richter tries to avoid the shot.
Hatt thows a body shot but no joy.
Richter clinches but Hatt breaks the clinch
and Hatt counters with a nice uppercut.
Richter throws a head kick but Hatt moves out of range.
Richter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hatt.
Richter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hatt just misses with a punch to the body.
Hatt slips a jab from Richter.
Hatt connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Richter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hatt moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Richter moves in looking to clinch but Hatt pushes him off.

Richter feints and as Hatt raises his hands in defense, Richter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Richter is breathing heavily.
Richter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hatt is proving hard to escape from.
Richter looking to sit in guard and control but Hatt gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Hatt is working Richter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hatt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hatt scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Richter is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Hatt moves into full mount! Richter won't be happy about that!

Richter is desperately trying to improve his position but Hatt has a good base and remains in mount.
Hatt wants to control the pace but Richter is squirming around nicely.

That has opened up John Richter's cut even more.
The referee warns Richter that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
BOOM! Hatt connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Richter wants to hold on but Hatt pushes him away.
Sir Topham Hatt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hatt looking for a guillotine from mount but Richter is having none of it.
Richter is looking to improve his position but Hatt isn't that keen on the idea.
Richter takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Hatt has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Richter's face.


John Richter's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Richter's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Sir Topham Hatt!
