Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between CJ Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, CJ Simmons! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Tyson! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Simmons throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Simmons shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Simmons tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tyson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Tyson clinches. Tyson misses with a knee strike.

Tyson has clasped his hands together around Simmons's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. You can see the frustration on Simmons's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Tyson tries to stand but Simmons is controlling his head. Simmons is not content to let Tyson control the position. Simmons is looking to reverse the position. Tyson landing a few strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Simmons gets back to half guard. Tyson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Tyson slips a nice elbow through Simmons's hands, connecting with Simmons's forehead. Tyson is pressing down on Simmons's thigh, looking to free his foot. Simmons is holding on for now. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Tyson feints and as Simmons raises his hands in defense, Tyson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Tyson looking to pass the guard. Tyson won't allow Simmons to sweep him here. Tyson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simmons. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Tyson trying to control the position from guard on top but Simmons is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tyson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Tyson is in close to Simmons's body, working some short punches and elbows. Simmons working for a triangle but Tyson defends it easily.
Simmons is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Simmons looking for a guillotine here but Tyson defends easily.
Simmons can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tyson controls the pace.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Simmons tries for a takedown but Tyson circles away easily so Tyson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Tyson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tyson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Simmons preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Tyson trying to control the position from guard on top but Simmons is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Simmons is looking for a triangle but Tyson pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tyson controls from within his opponent's guard. Tyson wants to control from the top but Simmons keeps moving. Simmons lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Tyson! Tyson tries to control the position but Simmons now has his back.

Jack Tyson dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Tyson. Tyson wants to stand but Simmons is controlling his arm. Simmons manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Simmons is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tyson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tyson's back! Simmons is trying to stick to Tyson's back but Tyson is turning into Simmons. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Simmons's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Tyson. Simmons not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Nice work there by Tyson. Tyson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Simmons trying to keep a closed guard but Tyson is proving a slippery customer.
Tyson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Tyson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Tyson wants to control from the top but Simmons keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tyson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tyson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Tyson stopping the sweep attempt from Simmons. Simmons looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Tyson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Tyson trying to control the position from guard on top but Simmons is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Simmons wants to stand but Tyson is controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tyson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Simmons keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Simmons darts in trying to clinch and Tyson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tyson. Simmons controls Tyson momentarily but Tyson frees himself. Simmons had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Tyson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Simmons Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Tyson's back instead. A lull in the action here.
Simmons sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Tyson taps out!
