The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Pierre closes the distance and clinches up with Xystorophroi, looking for a takedown. St Pierre pushes Xystorophroi against the cage but Xystorophroi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

St Pierre shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Xystorophroi as he jumps to the side.

St Pierre shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Xystorophroi but Xystorophroi pushes him off and we're back to square one.

St Pierre throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Xystorophroi's waist but Xystorophroi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing St Pierre off to one side.

Xystorophroi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. St Pierre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. St Pierre manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Xystorophroi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks St Pierre with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Xystorophroi lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Xystorophroi maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! St Pierre could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Xystorophroi has cracked it and St Pierre is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Xystorophroi!
