Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Brookins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Kos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jan Kos is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Brookins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jan Kos!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brookins shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Brookins throws a shot to the body.
Kos closes the distance and clinches up with Brookins, looking for a takedown. Kos pushes Brookins against the cage but Brookins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Brookins tries to clinch but Kos is having none of it.
Brookins shoots in but Kos avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Brookins tries to clinch there but Kos circles away.
Kos avoids the head kick by Brookins.

Kos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kos advances to full mount.
Kos wants to control the pace but Brookins is squirming around nicely.
Kos postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Brookins looks a forlorn figure.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kos thowing shots but they're missing.
Kos looking to ground and pound but Brookins is blocking nicely.
Kos avoids the attempt from Brookins to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kos wants to control the pace but Brookins is squirming around nicely.
Brookins avoids a series of strikes thrown by Kos.

Kos is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Brookins can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Kos looking to control but Brookins is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kos controlling the pace for now.
Brookins wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Kos.
The referee warns Brookins that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Brookins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kos on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kos stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Kos misses with a head kick.
Kos fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Brookins keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dan Brookins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Kos.

Brookins gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kos to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Kos looking to pass the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jan Kos dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kos takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Brookins fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kos wants to clinch.
Brookins tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Kos counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kos.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kos wants to control from the top but Brookins keeps moving.
Brookins utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brookins keeping full guard, as Kos tries to pass.
Brookins wants to get back to his feet but Kos passes into half guard.
Kos passes the guard and advances to mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kos content just to control the position here.
Kos throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kos throws some wild stikes that Brookins manages to avoid easily.
Kos scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Brookins?
Kos trying to control but Brookins is having none of it.
Kos takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kos throwing strikes here but Brookins is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kos trying to control but Brookins is having none of it.
Brookins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kos controlling his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jan Kos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Brookins fails with the takedown

and Kos counters by clinching up.
Brookins tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kos just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kos tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Brookins smiles and moves away.

Kos has closed the distance and engaged Brookins in a clinch.
Brookins has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Brookins jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kos walks away with a smile on his face. Brookins gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Brookins. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kos instigates a clinch.
Kos has a couple of punches blocked by Brookins.
Kos tries for a takedown but Brookins manages to get underhooks.
Kos wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kos prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kos prevents a body shot from Brookins.
Brookins drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kos pulls his leg out and moves away.
Dan Brookins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Brookins shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Kos counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Brookins keeping moving, preventing Kos from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kos stays in close to Brookins's body and controls the position.
Kos wants to control from the top but Brookins keeps moving.
Kos throws a big right hand that misses.
Dan Brookins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kos trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Kos stands up from Brookins's guard - Kos perhaps looking for a knockout.
Brookins with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Kos forces Brookins back against the cage and clinches.
Kos has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Brookins is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kos keeps control of Brookins as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Brookins avoiding damage as Kos throws knees to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Brookins looking to throw knees to the head but Kos is blocking nicely.
Kos has Brookins pressed against the cage, preventing Brookins from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Brookins is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kos is defending well for now.
Kos misses with the head strike.
Kos drops down looking for an ankle pick but Brookins pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kos throws a leg kick but Brookins checks it.
Brookins misses with an attempted mid kick.
Brookins tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Kos counters with a takedown into side control.
Kos is staying tight to Brookins's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Kos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kos advances to mount.
Kos tries to control but Brookins wriggling away.
Jan Kos has got the better of the ground game so far.
Brookins has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jan Kos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kos winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
