Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Brookins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar throws a solid leg kick but Brookins takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Lesnar.
Brookins fails to land the takedown.
Lesnar tries to close the distance and clinch but Brookins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Brookins gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lesnar gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Lesnar postures up in Brookins's guard and throws a big left but Brookins blocks it.
Lesnar wants to pass the guard but Brookins is keeping the position.
Lesnar postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Brookins preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Lesnar missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Lesnar working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Lesnar stops Brookins from standing up.
Brookins lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Brookins fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lesnar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lesnar wants it to stay on the feet.

Lesnar dives in and grabs Brookins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brookins pushes down on Lesnar's head and hops out.

Lesnar gets a clinch.
Brookins is looking to control Lesnar's arms but Lesnar gets an underhook and turns him. Now Brookins has his back to the cage.

Lesnar works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Brookins seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Brookins is looking to stand up but Lesnar isn't so interested in that idea.

Brookins utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Brookins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lesnar's guard.
Lesnar tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Lesnar is trying to keep Brookins in close.
Lesnar wants to get back to his feet but Brookins is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Brookins controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Brookins decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Lesnar is trying hard to land a takedown here. Brookins sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Brookins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lesnar paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lesnar shoots for a double leg takedown but Brookins sprawls well. He's pushed Lesnar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Brookins will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That was a close round but I would say that Kevin Brookins will probably get the nod.

Brookins is taking a breather. Lesnar says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Lesnar tries to roll over but Brookins keeps him under control.
Lesnar is breathing heavily.

Brookins fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Lesnar counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Brookins is controlling Lesnar's posture.
Lesnar tries to free his leg and advance position but Brookins is retaining full guard.
Brookins tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Lesnar trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Brookins is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Brookins in particular looking to stall.

Brookins has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kevin Brookins.
Lesnar displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Brookins.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brookins is adopting a defensive guard.

A close second round but Paul Lesnar will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Lesnar closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Brookins to the mat! Brookins manages to get full guard.
Brookins pulls Lesnar in close to prevent any damage.
Lesnar thows a big elbow that misses.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brookins is on top in guard.
Lesnar is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Brookins advances position into side control!

Brookins stands up.

Brookins takes the fight into the clinch.
Brookins tries for a takedown. No joy.
Lesnar can't get the takedown.
Brookins tries to score a body lock takedown but Lesnar shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Lesnar goes for a takedown attempt but Brookins pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Brookins takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
