Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Con Kostakidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Haral Dir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Con Kostakidis could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Haral Dir's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Kostakidis misses the target.
Kostakidis throws a head kick that misses.
Dir avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dir fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kostakidis avoids it really well and circles away.
Kostakidis clobbers Dir with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Kostakidis could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

and Dir counters with a shoot takedown. Kostakidis fights it but they end up in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kostakidis tries to stand but Dir is controlling from the bottom.
Kostakidis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dir dives on top into guard.

Dir really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kostakidis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

I looks like Dir might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

and Dir counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kostakidis won't be happy with that.

Dir shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kostakidis is trying to defend but Dir finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dir wants to pass the guard but Kostakidis is defending well.

Dir shoots in but Kostakidis avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Kostakidis looks to land a left hand but Dir moved out of range nicely.
Kostakidis moves in looking to clinch but Dir pushes him off.
Con Kostakidis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dir throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kostakidis's waist but Kostakidis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dir off to one side.
Kostakidis throws a head kick but Dir moves out of range.
Kostakidis looks to land a left hand but Dir moved out of range nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dir is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kostakidis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Despite being in the dominant position, Haral Dir just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Dir counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kostakidis won't be happy with that.
Dir lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kostakidis down.

Nice sprawl there from Kostakidis as Dir shoots in.
Dir bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Dir is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Dir has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Kostakidis is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Dir yanks on the arm and Kostakidis is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Dir.
