Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shika Kriston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kriston's entrance music is All I Do is Win. A fine choice. Shika Kriston has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stephen Burns! The judges for this bout are , and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kriston is defended easily by Burns. Burns blocks a head kick by Kriston.
Burns scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Kriston shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Stephen Burns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Some wild striking there from Burns.
Kriston scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Kriston is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Burns has escaped the position, nice work there. Kriston swings around for an armbar but Burns sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kriston's guard. Kriston looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns wants to pass the guard but Kriston is keeping the position. Burns stopping the sweep attempt from Kriston. Burns must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kriston is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kriston lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Burns!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kriston throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Burns is desperately trying to improve his position but Kriston has a good base and remains in mount. Kriston throws some wild stikes that Burns manages to avoid easily.
Burns holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Kriston tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Burns is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Burns wants to control but Kriston is having none of it. Burns really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kriston. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kriston scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Kriston has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kriston looking to control but Burns is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kriston is breathing heavily. Kriston punching from mount but Burns doing a good job of avoiding damage. Kriston throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Burns because Kriston loaded up on that one. Burns tries to reverse the position but Kriston maintains control. Kriston trying to control but Burns is having none of it. Kriston thowing shots but they're missing. Burns tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kriston misses with a head shot. Poor strikes thrown by Kriston there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burns is desperately trying to improve his position but Kriston has a good base and remains in mount. Kriston lands a heavy elbow. Kriston misses with a head shot. Kriston looking to ground and pound but Burns is blocking nicely. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kriston lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Kriston throwing strikes here but Burns is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Burns throws a front kick aimed at Kriston's knee but Kriston avoids it well. Kriston gets a takedown into half guard. Kriston throwing shots but Burns is blocking nicely. Kriston not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Kriston tries to pass the half guard into mount. Burns knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Burns is trying to control but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kriston prevents Burns from standing back up.
Burns holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Kriston is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kriston throwing shots but Burns is blocking nicely. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Burns throws a head kick that misses and Kriston counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Kriston would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Burns wants to stand but Kriston is controlling the position. Kriston tries to free his leg and advance position but Burns is retaining full guard. Burns wants to stand but Kriston is controlling the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Burns can do anything to dispel that myth. Burns managing to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burns is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burns wants to sweep here but Kriston controlling him for the moment. Kriston decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Kriston drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kriston postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns is trying to control Kriston's posture but Kriston avoids it. Kriston is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Burns is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Burns is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Burns is looking for a sweep. Kriston working the head and body with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kriston has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Burns is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kriston yanks on the arm and Burns is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kriston.
