Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Lytle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roan Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Lytle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roan Marshall! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lytle with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Marshall to score with a decent uppercut. Marshall shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marshall showed some decent athleticism there. Marshall throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Marshall wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lytle keeps working. Marshall tries to stand but can't do so whilst Lytle controls his leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marshall is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Marshall wants to free his trapped foot but Lytle is holding on for dear life with his legs. Marshall is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marshall sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lytle defending well though. Marshall prevents Lytle from standing back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lytle with a poor takedown and Marshall cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A big head kick from Marshall and Lytle is sent sprawling to the canvas!
It looks like Eric Lytle has been cut. Marshall lands a couple of decent looking shots. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Marshall postures up in Lytle's guard and throws a big left but Lytle blocks it. Marshall is looking to work some ground and pound but Lytle has wrist control. Marshall is fighting to break Lytle's control of his arms but Lytle is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marshall slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marshall has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Marshall working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Marshall thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Marshall throws a big right hand that misses.

Marshall wants to control from the top but Lytle keeps moving. Lytle is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Marshall scores with a hook to the body. Lytle takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Lytle misses with a combination
and Marshall counters with a flying knee. Nice. Marshall is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lytle's half guard. Marshall looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lytle is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marshall not landing any meaningful shots this time. Marshall seems to be looking for submissions.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lytle is doing well to control the position and prevent Marshall from advancing to side control. Lytle is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marshall drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Marshall is trying to get an arm triangle but Lytle is defending well. Marshall goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Lytle rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Marshall's guard! Nice work there by Lytle! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Marshall had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lytle defends it easily.

Lytle stays in close to Marshall's body and controls the position. Lytle working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Lytle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marshall on the ground. Marshall is looking for a triangle but Lytle pushes his legs off easily.

Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lytle trying to control but Marshall is working from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Lytle shoots and misses and Marshall decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lytle's guard. Marshall has gone for a leg lock! Lytle slips out almost immediately though and dives into Marshall's guard. Marshall has his foot on Lytle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lytle works his way back into a safe position though. Lytle gets to his feet - Marshall follows without any prompting. Lytle misses with a two punch combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Marshall drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Marshall pushing down on Lytle's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Marshall scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Lytle trying to control here.

Lytle on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lytle tries to get out of the position. Marshall passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lytle! Roan Marshall has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lytle tries to hold on but Marshall pushes him away. Marshall thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Marshall has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Marshall wants to sweep here but Lytle controlling him for the moment. Marshall has momentary wrist control but Lytle slips an elbow through the middle. Marshall has his foot on Lytle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lytle works his way back into a safe position though. Lytle lands a couple of elbows. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lytle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lytle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lytle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lytle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Marshall bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lytle's guard. Marshall working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Lytle's head.

Marshall trying to control the position from guard on top but Lytle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lytle throws a right and a left that both miss. Marshall scores with a punch to the head. Marshall is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lytle's half guard. Lytle has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Marshall is working away from the top position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Roan Marshall comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Marshall has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
