PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arto Muna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valdemar Friman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Friman has chosen Metallica - Damage Inc. as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Friman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Muna's waist but Muna gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Friman off to one side.
Friman throws a low kick but it's checked well by Muna.
Muna throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Friman walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Friman throws a right hand that Muna ducks under and follows up with a left that Muna also avoids with ease.
Muna circles away from the clinch attempt.
Muna misses with the combination.
Friman stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Muna.
Muna throws a series of punches but Friman avoids them all with ease.

and Muna counters with a shoot takedown. Friman fights it but they end up in guard.
Friman tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Muna is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Muna shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Friman but Friman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Friman throws a nice outside leg kick.

and Muna decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Friman's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Muna got a little sloppy there for a moment and Friman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Muna has managed to get both his arms back between Friman's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Friman looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Muna has picked Friman up and slammed him! Friman can't keep hold of the triangle and Muna manages to pass to side control!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Muna manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Friman manages to get himself to full guard.

Friman throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Muna stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Friman follows into mount!
