Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kale Keloha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Norm Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keloha kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is POD - Alive. The key to victory for Kale Keloha has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Keloha looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bates connects with a good right hand that stumbles Keloha. Keloha circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Keloha displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bates throws out the jab. Keloha lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Keloha tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Bates closes this distance looking for a takedown but Keloha circles away. Bates gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Keloha. A swing and a miss from Keloha. Keloha avoids a punch combination nicely.
Keloha misses with a hook. Bates ducked under it nicely. Keloha throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bates. Keloha is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Bates shoots for a double leg takedown but Keloha sprawls well. He's pushed Bates's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Keloha listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bates throws a series of punches but Keloha moves out of range. Bates will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bates takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Keloha throws a series of punches but Bates avoids them all with ease. Keloha throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Keloha throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bates. Kale Keloha is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bates is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Keloha's half guard. Bates missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Bates working Keloha over with strikes. Bates throwing shots but Keloha is blocking nicely. Keloha blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bates. Bates working over Keloha with some ground and pound. Keloha looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Bates thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Keloha's head. Bates thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Keloha knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bates on the ground. Keloha trying to control here.
Bates takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bates is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Keloha blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bates. Keloha is looking to escape. Keloha is in trouble now - Bates has advanced to mount! Keloha tries to lock up and control but Bates gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bates punishing his opponent with strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bates in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
It looks like Kale Keloha has been cut. Bates is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Keloha can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Keloha is breathing heavily. Keloha takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Kale Keloha's cut is getting worse. Bates postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Keloha looks a forlorn figure.
Kale Keloha's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Bates.
Jeez, Kale Keloha's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kale Keloha's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
