Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Todo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Todo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Liddel!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Todo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Knees to the body from Todo.

Todo manages to break the clinch.
Chuck Liddel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Todo. No joy for Liddel on that attempt.
Todo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Liddel pushes Todo up against the cage in a clinch.

Liddel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Todo throws a leg kick but Liddel sees it coming and moves out of range.
Liddel chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Todo can pounce on him.
Liddel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Todo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Todo fails with an attempt to clinch.

Liddel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Todo really is a fat lump.

Todo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Todo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Liddel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Todo is breathing heavily.
Liddel slips nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Liddel is looking to advance position but Todo won't allow it.
Todo tries to roll over but Liddel keeps him under control.

Todo wants to control but Liddel is keeping busy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Liddel.
Todo throws a sloppy head kick and Liddel moves out of range easily.

Todo stuffs the takedown.
Jack Todo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Liddel.

Todo tries to clinch up but Liddel circles away and keeps his distance.
Liddel connects with a nice looking jab.
Liddel stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Todo.
Todo throws a series of punches but Liddel moves out of range.

Liddel is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Todo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Liddel, pushing him back against the cage.
The referee calls for Todo to work.

Todo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Todo thows a left - swing and a miss!
Todo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Liddel shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Todo as he jumps to the side.
A head kick misses from Todo.
Todo feints and then cracks Liddel's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Liddel down.
Todo lands with an uppercut that bounces Liddel off the cage and back into rage.
Todo throws a big shot that misses.
Todo jabs at Liddel's body.
Todo misses with a body shot.
Todo fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Todo dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Todo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Todo keeps the fight on the outside.
Todo throws a head kick that misses.
Todo connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Liddel momentarily.
Todo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Todo moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Liddel keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Todo.
Liddel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


Todo is rocked!
A right-left combo lands from Liddel.
Oh Todo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Liddel keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Todo.

Todo seems to have got his legs back now.

and Liddel counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Todo wants to improve his position but Liddel is controlling well.
Todo throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Liddel is breathing heavily.
Todo is not content to let Liddel control the position.
Todo makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Todo.

Todo is looking for a triangle but Liddel pushes his legs off easily.
Todo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Liddel is one step ahead there.

Todo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Todo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Liddel!

Todo with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Todo wants to control the pace but Liddel is squirming around nicely.

Todo has control of Liddel's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Liddel regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jack Todo will probably get the nod.

Todo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Liddel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

You can see the frustration on Liddel's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jack Todo showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Todo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
