Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kane Wade! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Walker! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker pushes Wade up against the cage in a clinch. Wade goes for a takedown attempt but Walker pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Walker doesn't manage to clinch there - Wade circles away.
Wade looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Walker! Wade tries to control but Walker wriggling away. Walker is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Walker really wants to buck Wade off and get back to his feet. Wade pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Wade with good strikes from the mount here!

Wade has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wade misses with a head shot. Wade wants to finish this one by submission but Walker is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Wade. Poor strikes thrown by Wade there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Walker seems to have recovered his senses. Wade is breathing heavily. Walker tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walker wants to control but Wade is having none of it. Wade tries to control but Walker wriggling away. Walker manages to regain half guard. Good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wade's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wade's back! Walker is trying to stick to Wade's back but Wade is turning into Walker. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Walker's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Wade. Wade in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Wade wants to control from the top but Walker keeps moving. Walker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wade doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wade manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Walker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wade. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wade stays in close to Walker's body and controls the position. Wade cracks Walker with a solid left hand. Wade lands a couple of digs. Wade stands up over Walker, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Walker wants to stand and escape but Wade is having none of it. Wade pushes down on Walker's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walker is trying to get back to full guard. Walker trying to control from the bottom.
Walker is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walker is trying to stand back up but Wade is controlling him

Walker is looking for a sweep. Wade is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Walker regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Wade.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Horrible takedown by Wade or perhaps it was just good defense by Walker which made him look bad. Walker is looking to take this fight into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kane Wade dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Wade is looking to clinch. Walker gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily so Wade counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Walker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wade is controlling him. Wade distracts Walker with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Wade gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Wade shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Walker as he jumps to the side. Wade fails in his attempt to clinch. Walker shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Wade decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Walker's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wade throwing strikes but missing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wade advances to half guard. Walker is not content to let Wade control the position. Wade prevents Walker from improving his position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Walker can do anything to dispel that myth. Wade scoring with strikes to the body and head. Walker is refusing to be controlled, as Wade sits in half guard. Wade scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Wade works his way into side control. Wade wants to control but Walker is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Walker prevents Wade from moving into mount. Wade grinds an elbow into Walker's temple. Wade is looking to take a break and control but Walker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wade tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Wade misses with the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wade working the ground and pound. Wade connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Walker some visible discomfort.

Wade takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wade is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Wade is working for a kimura but Walker is defending it quite comfortably.

Kane Wade dominated that second round. That's time! Wade's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Wade shoots and misses and Walker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Wade shoots in for a double leg but Walker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Wade shoots for a takedown but Walker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kane Wade. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wade changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Walker tries to avoid it but Wade manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Walker to the ground. Walker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Walker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wade is looking to clinch but Walker is avoiding it.
Walker stuffs the takedown attempt from Wade. Wade gets slowly back to his feet. Wade throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Walker's waist but Walker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wade off to one side. Wade tries to close the distance and clinch but Walker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Wade wants to clinch up but Walker keeps it at a distance. No luck for Wade with that takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wade fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Wade shoots in but Walker avoids the takedown attempt easily. Walker stuffs the takedown. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Wade misses with a takedown attempt - Walker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Wade tries to clinch up but Walker circles away and keeps his distance. Wade will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Wade has a takedown stuffed. John Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wade fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wade looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wade shoots in looking for a takedown. Walker tries to sprawl out of it but Wade keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Walker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Wade shoots in and bounces Walker off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Wade lands a couple of digs. Walker looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Wade chips away with some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wade connects with a couple of short punches. Wade postures up and lands a big shot to Walker's brow. Wade controlling from the top position. Wade pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Walker is keeping the position for now. Wade postures up.
Kane Wade overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wade gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Walker is looking to clinch but Wade is avoiding it.
Walker fails in his attempt to clinch. Walker jabs Wade right on the nose. Wade blinks but takes it well. Walker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Walker misses with a takedown and Wade counters by clinching up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wade drops down looking for an ankle pick but Walker pulls his leg out and moves away.
Walker looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Walker misses with a takedown and Wade counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Walker's guard now. Wade trying to control the position from guard on top but Walker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Walker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Walker is trying to keep Wade in close.
John Walker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Walker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wade gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Walker is looking for a triangle but Wade pushes his legs off easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Kane Wade showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wade, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
