4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stonecold Humbertto Huulihalkio! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Huulihalkio shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Huulihalkio keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Huulihalkio trying to control from half guard but Emerson is working away. Huulihalkio trying to control the pace. Huulihalkio is trying to control. Emerson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Huulihalkio is looking for a kimura but Emerson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Huulihalkio to get the leverage. Emerson is looking to improve his position.
Huulihalkio content to control rather than advance.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Stonecold Humbertto Huulihalkio. Huulihalkio avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A jab lands there for Emerson.
It looks like Stonecold Humbertto Huulihalkio has been cut. Emerson ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Huulihalkio looks gassed! Emerson misses with an uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emerson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Huulihalkio sprawling to the canvas! Huulihalkio rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Emerson finish him?!
Huulihalkio is rocked! Emerson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Huulihalkio is still on wobbly legs! Can Emerson finish him? Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Huulihalkio takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Huulihalkio seems to have recovered his senses. Huulihalkio slips under a jab from Emerson. Emerson cracks the inside of Huulihalkio's front leg. Emerson throws a low kick but Huulihalkio avoids it. Emerson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Emerson cracks Huulihalkio with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Emerson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Huulihalkio to stand back up! Ralph Waldo Emerson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Huulihalkio checks a low kick from Emerson. Emerson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emerson connects with a solid leg kick. Emerson cracks Huulihalkio on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Huulihalkio falls backwards against the cage. Emerson follows up with more strikes that drop Huulihalkio to his knees. Emerson keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Huulihalkio! This one is all over!
