PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Hobby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Preuss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Preuss has chosen Ride the Lightening by Metallica as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Hobby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hobby throws a hook but Preuss blocks it.
Hobby misses with a wild body shot.
Preuss throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Preuss dives in and grabs Hobby's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hobby pushes down on Preuss's head and hops out.
Preuss tries to close the distance and clinch but Hobby swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hobby shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Preuss as he avoids it easily.
Preuss tries to clinch there but Hobby circles away.
Preuss fails with a takedown attempt.
Preuss is looking to clinch.
Preuss throws a head kick but Hobby moves out of range.

Hobby cracks Preuss with an uppercut from hell and Preuss crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Hobby's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

It looks like Aaron Preuss has been cut.

Preuss has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hobby can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hobby tries to stand but Preuss is controlling from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Preuss tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Preuss is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Preuss looks gassed!

Hobby stands up and waves to Preuss to follow him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hobby steps into range and cracks Preuss with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Preuss flops backwards and Hobby dives into his guard looking to finish!
Preuss is trying to control the position but Hobby postures up.

Hobby decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Preuss fails with an attempt to clinch.

Hobby bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Preuss! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Preuss is rocked!

Hobby gets to his feet - Preuss follows without any prompting.
Preuss is still on wobbly legs! Can Hobby finish him?

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hobby lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Preuss at a distance.
Preuss seems to have recovered his senses.
Hobby fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Preuss avoids it really well and circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Preuss. No joy for Hobby on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Hobby. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Preuss shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Hobby connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Preuss tumbling to the canvas! Hobby pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Preuss was done - good stoppage!
