Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Stolz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramon De La Vega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramon De La Vega is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Stolz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ramon De La Vega!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Stolz with that takedown attempt.
De La Vega doesn't manage to clinch there - Stolz circles away.
De La Vega fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stolz avoids it really well and circles away.

Stolz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Stolz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Stolz looking for a guillotine from mount but De La Vega is having none of it.
De La Vega tries to lock up and control but Stolz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
De La Vega is trying desperately to improve position.
Stolz pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Stolz moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, De La Vega has worked his arm free - good work by De La Vega!

Stolz throws a strike aimed at the side of De La Vega's head but De La Vega avoids it well.
De La Vega tries to buck Stolz off but Stolz is having none of it.
De La Vega parries the strikes from Stolz easily there. Stolz is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable De La Vega to escape.
De La Vega gets back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stolz is trying to control the action in half guard but De La Vega is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
De La Vega regains full guard. Nicely done.
De La Vega seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Stolz tries to free his leg and advance position but De La Vega is retaining full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
De La Vega wants to stand but Stolz is controlling the position.
Stolz looking to sit in guard and control but De La Vega gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
De La Vega trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Stolz controls De La Vega momentarily but De La Vega frees himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stolz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and De La Vega decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stolz's guard.
Stolz is trying to control the position but De La Vega postures up.
De La Vega is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
De La Vega slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Stolz.
Stolz is looking to get back to full guard here but De La Vega has managed to pass to side control instead.

Stolz regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Stolz thows a body shot but no joy.
Stolz fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt De La Vega.

Stolz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
De La Vega pushes down on Stolz's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Stolz is trying to maintain the position but De La Vega is very close to passing his half guard.
De La Vega is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Stolz!

Stolz throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
The fight stays on the outside here - De La Vega looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
De La Vega shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stolz but Stolz pushes him off and we're back to square one.

De La Vega closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - De La Vega lands in his opponent's guard.

De La Vega is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Stolz wants to control but De La Vega is keeping busy.
De La Vega is figuring out what he wants to do next.
De La Vega tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stolz knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
De La Vega uses his free foot to push down on Stolz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Stolz.

Ramon De La Vega showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Stolz doesn't succeed with the takedown

and De La Vega counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Stolz's guard now.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ramon De La Vega.
Stolz avoids a punch combination nicely.
De La Vega fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Stolz checks it well.

Stolz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in De La Vega's half guard.
Stolz stalling away here and it's allowed De La Vega to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
De La Vega pulls Stolz in close to prevent any damage.

De La Vega wants to get back to his feet but Stolz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

De La Vega is controlling Stolz's posture.

De La Vega is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
De La Vega is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Stolz has gone for a leg lock! De La Vega slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stolz's guard.

Let's hope that De La Vega has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Stolz can't keep his opponent in guard - De La Vega advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De La Vega prevents Stolz from improving his position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

De La Vega gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Kevin Stolz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stolz has a takedown stuffed.
Ramon De La Vega is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

De La Vega fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stolz, pushing him back against the cage.
Stolz on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Stolz tries to pull guard but De La Vega won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Stolz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
De La Vega jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Stolz walks away with a smile on his face. De La Vega gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Stolz is looking for a triangle here but De La Vega uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Ramon De La Vega comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got De La Vega winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
